PRESENTED BY TRI-STATE TOYOTA DEALERS ASSOCIATION

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, PAL welcomed 15 outstanding teens to City Hall for its annual PAL Day at City Hall, presented by the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association. The program provided young leaders from across PAL’s centers with a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how Philadelphia’s government operates.

The day began with a formal swearing-in ceremony, where participants stepped into the roles of city leadership for the day. Mayor Cherelle Parker and Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel joined PAL leadership and youth speakers to kick off the experience, underscoring the importance of civic engagement and youth leadership.

Following the ceremony, teens were paired with city officials based on their interests and career goals. Throughout the day, participants shadowed their counterparts, gaining firsthand insight into public service and leadership in action.

We are so grateful for the continued support from the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association. During the program, Toyota presented PAL with a generous $25,000 donation to support our expanding youth programs and opportunities. In addition, each participating teen received a $150 gift card to purchase professional attire, helping them prepare for future academic and career success. This meaningful investment reflects Toyota’s deep commitment to empowering young people and strengthening the communities PAL serves.

PAL Day at City Hall is a powerful example of how partnerships between community organizations, civic leaders, and corporate supporters like Toyota can create transformative experiences for youth. By connecting teens with mentors and exposing them to pathways in public service, PAL continues to inspire confidence, ambition, and leadership in Philadelphia’s next generation.
