PAL Visits Philly Landmarks

Flying a helicopter at the Franking Institute

The first female President at the Constitution Center

On June 28, 2012, 160 PAL youngsters experienced many of the great sites Philadelphia has to offer. The morning started with a tour of the National Constitution Center. Participants were shown how to make paper, were sworn in as President and cast their vote by putting colored marbles in large tubes for the upcoming elections in November. PAL Officers and youth were treated to “Freedom Rising,” an exciting and educational theatrical show about the history of the United States Constitution.

Attendees traveled through downtown Philadelphia to the Franklin Institute. After racing up the steps, the youngsters were able to touch and feel the interactive exhibits as they learned about all-things science. Children ran through the infamous Giant Heart, practiced flying a helicopter, learned about electric currents and got a workout at the Sports Challenge.

All PAL youth had a great day at this year’s Philadelphia Experience Trip!
