Last year, University of Pennsylvania Police Officer Cassandra Parks-Devaughn, one of the Center Directors at Cobbs Creek PAL, instituted the PAL Positive Attitude Ladies Pageant to engage young ladies, ages 13-18, from across the City of Philadelphia. The pageant highlighted young ladies with positive attitudes who actively participated in PAL’s youth development programming. Through PAL’s partnership with The University of Pennsylvania Division of Public Safety, P/O Parks-Devaughn introduced the young participants to life in a university setting by hosting the competition on the University of Pennsylvania’s Campus, and having University of Pennsylvania officials serve as judges.
PAL is currently looking for participants for the 2016 Positive Ladies Attitude Pageant. Young ladies who participated will be asked to express themselves through creative art and education competitions, interviews, talent shows, and creative formal wear and fashion shows. Most importantly, they’ll be asked to have fun!
Deadline for entry is March, 10, 2016. Registration forms can be requested through PAL officers.
