Another Fun PAL Night at the Phillies!
On August 8, 2012, the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the 34th annual PAL Night. Nearly 200 PAL youngsters and their officers were in attendance to watch the hometown Phillies take on the Braves. Lenfest PAL member, Kysheem, was on the mound as the first pitch was thrown out to start the night.
Before the Phillies and Braves took the field, PAL held a 5-inning softball game for media players and sponsors. Some of Philadelphia’s most revered television and print stars took on popular radio hosts and bloggers. A handful of PAL sponsors joined each team to swing for the fences for PAL as well. The game ended in a one-run tie.
Following the softball game, Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard was honored and presented with an Honorary Philadelphia Police badge for his commitment to the City of Philadelphia and for his work in the community with PAL. Sponsors joined Ryan Howard, PAL’s Commanding Officer Lt. Anthony, and PAL’s Chair Sylvia Nisenbaum for an on-field check presentation.
