On February 6, PAL and the 76ers celebrated 27 years of partnership during PAL Night at the 76ers. Since its inception, the fundraiser has brought in more than $265,000 for PAL’s youth development programming.

The special evening, which featured a highly anticipated matchup between the Sixers and the Pacers, kicked off at 6 p.m. with a reception for event sponsors and members of PAL’s prestigious Commissioner’s Club. Along with the 76ers, the fun-filled night was made possible by the NECA, Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter/ I.B.E.W. Local Union 98, Lane Bryant and Catherines, and SugarHouse Casino. Each sponsor presented a check to PAL on the court prior to PAL awarding Sixers All-Star Jrue Holiday with a Community Service Award for his commitment and dedication to Philadelphia.

Dozens of PAL youngsters were directly involved in the event and hundreds attended in the stands. Twenty lucky children lined the high-five tunnel as the Sixers players ran on to the court for pre-game workouts. Two deserving children were rewarded for their participation in PAL by greeting the captains at center court for the Captain’s Huddle.

During halftime, members of the local media, event sponsors and Commissioner’s Club members faced off against a team of PAL children in the annual Media All-Star Halftime Game. Walter Perez and Jeff Skversky of 6ABC, Jennaphr Fredericks of FOX 29, Oren Libermann of CBS 3, Frank Lewis of 98.1 WOGL Breakfast Club, Dom Giordano of Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Big Daddy Graham of SportsRadio 94 WIP, Marshall Harris of Comcast SportsNet, sponsors and Commissioner’s Club members, Dan Forman and Maureen Rush, competed against the PAL youngsters and PAL’s Commanding Officer, Lt. William Eddis, with hopes of keeping their win streak alive. In the end, the PAL team surprised the Media All-Star team with a new, fast-paced look and proved to be too much to handle for the Media All-Star team.

PAL thanks all who were involved in this special annual event and looks forward to next year’s PAL Night at the 76ers!
