Touchdown for PAL! Lincoln Financial Fantasy Camp a Success
On June 27, 50 children from four PAL centers gathered at Lincoln Financial Field for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Lincoln Financial Fantasy Camp. Youngsters from the Bluford, Oxford Circle, Paley and Rizzo PAL Centers enjoyed lunch in Lincoln Financial Field and spent some quality time with former Eagles Tackle, William “Tra” Thomas. Thomas captivated the attention of the children and reminded them that all of the choices they make in life have consequences, and to be sure to make the right choice. He also taught them that time is one of their most valuable assets, and that they should use it wisely. After that, the children and teens took a tour of the stadium, which included a visit to the press box, the Eagles locker room and the Temple Owls locker room, where each child found a personalized locker containing their very own Eagles jersey. Following the tour, youngsters headed across the street to the NovaCare Complex for some fun, exercise and football activities. Eagles Wide Receiver Jason Avant greeted the young guests at the door, and led them to the practice field, where they met Jamar Cheney, Darryl Tapp and Brett Brackett. The four players led the children in exciting drills and workouts, where they showcased their talents on the field. The day’s activities culminated in a series of flag football games run by Eagles Quarterback Mike Kafka. PAL thanks the Lincoln Financial Group and the Philadelphia Eagles for making this event possible for PAL’s children.
