Officer William Schneider

Tacony PAL Director

For more than 20 years, Tacony PAL Police Officer William Schneider has served as a mentor and role model for Philadelphia youth. Officer Schneider grew up as a PAL Kid, and took over as the Tacony PAL Center Director upon PAL officer Jerry Hartman's retirement. Officer Schneider joined the Philadelphia Police Department in 1996 and was assigned to the PAL Police Unit in 2002.

Officer Schneider is a resident of Northeast Philadelphia and enjoys watching baseball and basketball during his free time.

Since 1968, the Philadelphia community has come together to honor individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to the Police Athletic League's mission of "Cops Helping Kids." The size and scope of the Awards Gala is indicative of the larger-than-life impact that our honorees have on PAL Centers citywide.
