PAL Celebrates Independence Day with Wawa Go 4th and Learn
More than 120 youngsters from the Harrowgate, Tacony, Gibbons, Rizzo and Cozen PAL centers attended Go 4th and Learn during the Wawa Welcome America celebrations. This interactive event showcased fun and educational Philadelphia-themed activities and Wawa dairy history, including a look at a Wawa barn and simulated milking station from 1902.
Participants met at Franklin Square for Historical Story Time where they heard from Mayor Nutter, Wawa President and CEO Chris Gheysens and 6ABC reporter Matt O’Donnell.
The day continued with free admission to the National Constitution Center where children took turns swearing in as President of the United States and signing the Constitution. Youngsters also enjoyed a healthy lunch of classic Wawa hoagies and snacks, had their faces painted, played miniature golf and rode the Liberty Carousel in Franklin Square. Every attendee left with a new drawstring bag full of Wawa goodies.
PAL thanks Wawa for including Philadelphia youngsters in this fun and educational annual event.
